Why Do We Ask the Same Questions Again and Again?

Someone wrote to us after our last article, “Startling revelations change everything New Zealanders have been schooled to believe” and complained that my writing is too depressing. They suggested I write instead about the need for a cleaner environment and organic food. If you read my blog, you will be aware that I sometimes do. In any case, by way of answer, it is worth reflecting on how we got into this mess and how we may exit it.

For the last thirty years, I have been writing about the dangers of genetic technology. Simply put, genetic engineering is inherently mutagenic, spreads everywhere, and can’t be recalled. Life is completely dependent on the integrity of precise genetic structures, yet biotechnologists are recklessly editing them. Research only confirms the contention that the risks are unacceptable while the promised benefits have never materialised. The inevitable adverse effects routinely plague unwitting guinea pigs in trials. The shady and secretive biotechnology industry has grown exponentially and now stalks the whole world’s population.

Despite winning some battles over the years, such as the requirement to label genetically modified foods in many countries, we have found that biotechnology advocates keep pushing and keep overturning precautionary regulations in food and medicine. The constant personnel turnover in our system of governance has to shoulder a significant portion of the blame for this. The politicians, heads of industry, and medical administrators that I and others have met over thirty years to carefully explain the risks, are mostly long gone from positions of authority and now safely retired with generous pensions and golden handshakes.

Every few years, a fresh crop replaces them, wet behind the ears and bristling to bring something new to the table and secure their own retirement. The continuity of wisdom inevitably disappears. Right now, the National Party, along with ACT, if elected, are proposing to deregulate current bioengineering safeguards and replace them with incentives. I worked in the export food certification industry in the USA and represented it around the world. I know that high quality GE free produce attracts higher prices and greater access to markets. This proposed move will hurt our agricultural productivity, our export economy, and our valuable overseas image.

In the wings lie unscrupulous players, in it for the long haul, seeking to make profits out of other people’s misery. Unfortunately, newly elected politicians and their ilk often fall easy prey to deceptive promises and generous financial incentives. In the modern world, there is little regard for truth, science, morality, or consequences—the end justifies the means. It is an old story, but will it ever be possible to bring it to an end?

So where could we find a source of continuity? The answer lies in the laws of nature, and that includes our own nature. There is a stability in natural laws that our governing institutions sadly lack. The sun, the seasons, gravity, light, and plants all shout to us authentic tales of stable governance. Curiously, physics tells us that the source of this stable system of world governance is a unified level of nature’s functioning. The hallmark of this unified field is its capacity to be awake and well ordered everywhere, at every point in space and time, where it also promotes the freedom to grow and evolve.

To experience this, we must appreciate that the nature of the universe is our own nature. We have quiet spaces in our consciousness that mirror the organising power of natural laws. If we ever want to be free of oppression, we must cultivate the experience of these spaces and help others to do so.

If you want to know who I am voting for in October’s election, I am hoping to find someone with an open mind, someone who values knowledge, who feels a sense of awe when the sun rises, and actually has a chance of being elected. Let me know if you can find someone like that in your local politics.

Otherwise, I have maintained a personal commitment to organic growing and freedom from pollution for many years. I know that many of you also have your chosen paths of self-development. If you would like to know more, I have written about this and the hundreds of published studies which support the benefits of natural approaches to health, happiness, and intelligence in my book Your DNA Diet. There is great untapped power in nature.

So if we believe that there are personal approaches to well being and sacred spaces, why is the Hatchard Report emphasising so strongly and exclusively on the need to control biotechnology experimentation? The answer lies in the extreme danger it poses to everything that you and I hold dear. The reckless global attempt to undermine the stability of human genetics threatens everything. Even the WHO has released a report this week admitting there were 14 million excess deaths worldwide in 2021, only 5 million of which they attributed to Covid. We are only just beginning to appreciate what the mechanics of such devastating effects might be.

See, for example, this paper published last month in Vaccine which details the possible epigenetic crosstalk between Covid vaccines and our human genome. This is the same genome which supports our capacity to contemplate truth, to grow organic foods, to think rationally, to express compassion, to love life, to worship, and laugh despite adversity. If we allow someone to interfere with what allows us to express who we are, what would we and our dear ones become? Keep asking questions and explaining, the alternatives are unthinkable.

Just remember that the world of biotechnology has become so vast and invasive that it is no longer possible to sit on the sidelines. See, for example, a study published in Science entitled “A genetically engineered Plasmodium falciparum parasite vaccine provides protection from controlled human malaria infection”. It reports that mosquitos have been genetically engineered to vaccinate people against malaria. This ‘vaccination’ involved multiple exposures to large numbers of engineered mosquitoes, and its effects possibly lasted for a few months in some participants. One trial subject reported suffering a blistered swollen arm, but said the $4,100 payment to subjects and the sense of having done something good made it all worthwhile.

Soon if we are stung by a mosquito in our organic garden, we might need to pause for thought, but that’s only if we have been able to source non genetically engineered seed. I have been invited to attend an organic growers conference. The main topic is not how to grow but how to protect organics from biotechnology. If we don’t, there won’t be any organic gardens anywhere and no natural herbal remedies either. Speaking up is essential, its importance has begun to rival taking care of ourselves naturally. In the modern world, you can’t have one without the other.

Support needed now: If you can support our work financially, it is needed right now and will be much appreciated. During the last couple of months, two aging computers that we rely on have broken down irrevocably. Their necessary replacement involves substantial outgoings beyond our current means. Our daily work includes not just researching, communicating, and writing but also designing, maintaining, and protecting our websites. This takes time, energy and significant ongoing financial resources. Very few of those receiving our blog actually support us financially. Every small regular donation helps us to keep going. A larger one-off donation can also help us to make ends meet. You can donate direct to our bank account:
